What we collect

This website is a static site — there are no user accounts and no forms that submit data back to the Town through the site itself. The only data automatically collected is what your web browser sends with any normal HTTP request:

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook tracking pixels, or any third-party advertising or social-media trackers. We do not set tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is needed because we do not collect data that requires one.

Email and phone

If you contact the Town by email or phone — for example, to ask a question about your utility bill, request a FOIA record, or report an issue — your message and contact information become Town records and may be subject to public disclosure under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.

External links

Some pages link to third-party websites — utility bill pay, the Rockbridge County Treasurer, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, etc. Each of those sites has its own privacy practices. The Town has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy or content of external sites.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page.
