Glasgow Fire & Rescue is a volunteer department providing fire suppression, rescue, and basic life support emergency medical services to the Town of Glasgow and nearby unincorporated areas of Rockbridge County.

Emergency response

For any fire, rescue, or medical emergency, dial 9-1-1. The Rockbridge County Communications Center dispatches Glasgow Fire & Rescue along with neighboring departments under mutual aid agreements.

Join the department

Glasgow Fire & Rescue is always recruiting community-minded volunteers to serve as firefighters and EMTs. Training is provided. To inquire about joining, contact the Fire Chief through Town Hall at (540) 258-2246.

Smoke detector program

The department offers free smoke detector installation for Glasgow residents through a Virginia Department of Fire Programs grant. Contact Town Hall to request an installation visit.
