Community Development
The Glasgow Community Development Committee promotes pride and community spirit among residents, enhances the Town’s image, and attracts new residents, businesses, and visitors.
Annual events
The Committee plans, sponsors, encourages, and promotes events that improve the social and economic well-being of Glasgow:
- Labor Day Weekend Events — the Town’s flagship annual celebration
- Farmers’ Market — May through October, at 10th Street and Kanawha Street
- Concerts — summer outdoor concerts in the parks
- Movies in the park — family-friendly outdoor screenings
- Christmas festivities — tree lighting, decorations, holiday events
Town projects
Ongoing community development projects are coordinated by the Committee in collaboration with the Town Manager and Council. To volunteer for the Community Development Committee or to help with an event, contact Town Hall at (540) 258-2246.
CDBG Management Team
The Town receives federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for housing rehabilitation, infrastructure, and public facilities. The CDBG Management Team oversees these grant-funded projects on behalf of the Town.
